Bouniful Baskets

K - this is the coolest thing ever! My friend Heather told me about Bountiful Baskets a few months ago and Isaiah and I have done it the last few weeks.

It is a food coop where you pool your money with other people to buy produce at a discounted rate. The produce is then split up between everyone that bought in. You generally get about $60 worth or produce for $16.50-$19.50. The best part is you don't have to even have to pick out what you want to buy! Every week they buy something different and all you have to do is show up on Saturday morning to pick it up.

Here is Addison while we waited in line this morning :) She was chatting with the gentlemen behind me and charming everyone in line. She is so much fun!

Ok Adds - make a silly face :)

This is what it looks like when you go to the pick up site:

You take all the produce out of 2 laundry baskets!

Here is what we got for $16.50:
Vegetables: 4 tomatoes, 7 ears of corn, 2 cucumbers, brocoli, lettuce, 4 onions, 22 green chilis.
Fruit: 11 plums, 8 peaches, 3 mangos, canteloupe, 2 platains, box of blueberries.

It's fun to try new fruits and veggies that I wouldn't think of buying. There are tons of locations all over the valley and across the state. If you want to check it out you can go to bountifulbaskets.org to sign up.
