Hanukkah and Christmas all in the same night!

Last night our neighbors invited us over for family evening. Since Hanukkah started this week they served a traditional Hanukkah dinner complete with potato pancakes called Latkeys! Our neighbors are LDS but like celebrate Hanukkah too. It was fun to learn more about this holiday.

They let Isaiah light the menorah. You light the middle candle first then light one candle for each day of Hanukkah. Since it was the second day he lit two candles.

After dinner we acted out the Nativity play. Everyone was assigned a part. Isaiah and I were Mary and Joseph. One of our neighbors who was assigned to be the angel felt she was being 'type casted' LOL.

Ammon in the back row was the 'star' when his part came he held the big star fish as high as he could. It was great!

Here is Isaiah and me being Mary and Joseph. Baby Jesus was played by Amelia.

She was so adorable! She fell asleep at the perfect time and fit so perfectly in the basket!! What an Angel!!

Thanks again to the Smith's for having us over. It brought back memories from when I was a kid and we would act out the Nativity as a family. I had so much fun! I even woke up this morning thinking about what a great time I had. I can't wait til we have kids and can do the same thing with our family!
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah!!

Oooh, Lights...

Last week we went with Adam, Bri, and Brody to see the lights at Temple Square. It was quite chilly! For future Temple Square light view excursions I highly recommend Thursday nights. It wasn't crowded which was nice!

Isaiah and Me...

Brody checking out the floating lights. (Man those are way cool!)

All of us...

Just horsing around!

Festival of Trees!

Earlier this week my mom and I went to the Festival of Trees to watch my younger brother Mathew play the Obo in the Jordan Youth Symphony. It was a group of students from 15 different schools. They were soooo good! He has come a long way since I heard him play in elementary school years ago!

After the performance my mom and I wandered around. The first time I went to the festival I don't remember the wreath section. I thought these were way cool!

This is my mom and me in front of one of my favorite wreaths.

If I was rich and buying a tree I would have bought this one for Isaiah :)...... Go Jazz!

This tree was really cool. It was done out of glass!! It was drawing quite a crowd and if I was giving awards it definitely would have received most unique.

Adam V this is for you... When I saw this I thought if you ever had a Christmas Village it would surely have Jeeps and trucks in the parking lot!

I thought this gingerbread house was fun. People are so creative!!
